Volunteers for Isolated Students' Education (VISE)
Volunteers for Isolated Students' Education (VISE) is a national organisation established in 1990 to support distance education families and schools across Australia.
VISE volunteers, often retired teachers, may spend short periods of time with families to provide respite or assist with educational support, in consultation with the school.

Isolated Children's Parents' Association (ICPA – Australia)
The Isolated Children's Parents' Association (ICPA – Australia) is a voluntary, national parent organisation that advocates for equitable access to appropriate education for geographically isolated children.
ICPA represents thousands of families living in rural and remote areas across Australia, including those engaged in farming, pastoral work, mining, fishing, itinerant employment, and small business.
ICPA defines a geographically isolated child as one who does not have reasonable daily access to an appropriate school. An appropriate school is one that provides education at the required year level, with sufficient curriculum offerings to support each child to achieve their potential.
ICPA advocates for isolated children to have access to a total education, including academic learning, cultural experiences, social interaction, sporting opportunities, and other enriching activities, regardless of geographic location.
To support this work, ICPA engages with governments and stakeholders across a range of focus areas, including:
- education allowances
- boarding schools and school term hostels
- travel and access
- distance education
- special education
- curriculum
- communications and connectivity
- small rural and remote schools
- early childhood education
- tertiary education
ICPA works with State and Federal governments to promote policies and funding arrangements that enable families to choose the schooling option that best meets their children's needs and circumstances.
